Wolf Girl

Listen to Moe's poem ... performed by Namakula Nasejje Musoke.
In a den, wolf pups are sleeping
There’s a secret that they’re keeping
Snuggled in their furry swirl,
They are hiding a human girl

Saved her from a freezing river
Huddled round to stop her shiver
Sniffing at her odd bare skin,
Mother Wolf took her in

In the field wolves are bounding,
Wolf Girl chases, young heart pounding
Strong legs pumping- keeping up
She’s grown to be a wolf girl pup

Sneaking up the ridge to peep,
on unsuspecting silly sheep
A yip, a nip, a bark, a wail!
The flock wise up and turn tail

Night is falling, no more prowling
Now’s the time for wolf pack howling
Round they circle in a ring,
lift their heads and start to sing

Those at home lock their doors,
when howling floats across the moors
Then they stand as if spellbound
One voice is surely not a hound
