Wishful Thinking
The lamp turns on when I flick the switch
The sink turns on when I wash a dish
The tummy turns on when the food’s delish
The bath turns on when I want to go ‘splish’
The tank turns on when it’s filled with fish
The car turns on when it’s out of the ditch
My dreams turn on when I make a wish
The sink turns on when I wash a dish
The tummy turns on when the food’s delish
The bath turns on when I want to go ‘splish’
The tank turns on when it’s filled with fish
The car turns on when it’s out of the ditch
My dreams turn on when I make a wish

About the Writer
Rachel Lynn Ellicott
Rachel Lynn Ellicott grew up in the idyllic Hudson Valley, New York, finding inspiration in its rolling hills and cozy antique shops. After graduating from Cornell University, she became a Theatre Agent at Paradigm Talent Agency in New York City. In her spare time, you can find her writing children's poems, composing piano music, and drinking tea. Possibly too much tea. Definitely too much tea. For Rachel, the best stories are the ones you tell together (preferably over dessert).
