Wildlife in the City
We had a visitor to our garden
I said as we do in Yorkshire “Nah Then”
But she made a sound like a child’s cry
Very strange and made me wonder why
For years we have lived here
But she hasn’t been to see us
Did we change something there?
Can you tell us please, Jesus?
She visited again and again
Was she hiding something? A cub?
I couldn’t find a fox’s den
Should I expect a little voice that says “Ey Up”?
I said as we do in Yorkshire “Nah Then”
But she made a sound like a child’s cry
Very strange and made me wonder why
For years we have lived here
But she hasn’t been to see us
Did we change something there?
Can you tell us please, Jesus?
She visited again and again
Was she hiding something? A cub?
I couldn’t find a fox’s den
Should I expect a little voice that says “Ey Up”?
