Under the Rock
Have you ever lifted a rock just for a peek
and found a whole world?
Roots stretching beyond their tree?
Millipede scurrying with her pairs of legs, legs, legs?
Cricket waiting for the dark and his solo performance?
Worm slithering in the soil that the rock keeps dark and damp?
Pillbug coiling into a ball when you snatch his cover?
Uncrushable spider crawling over the rock and to you?
Do you ever wonder if the spider is sent out by them all—
the only one who can make you drop that rock,
restore their darkness?
and found a whole world?
Roots stretching beyond their tree?
Millipede scurrying with her pairs of legs, legs, legs?
Cricket waiting for the dark and his solo performance?
Worm slithering in the soil that the rock keeps dark and damp?
Pillbug coiling into a ball when you snatch his cover?
Uncrushable spider crawling over the rock and to you?
Do you ever wonder if the spider is sent out by them all—
the only one who can make you drop that rock,
restore their darkness?
