The Dirigible Balloon
Poetry for Children

Two Acrostic Christmas Poems

Gingerbread

Giggles
In the kitchen
Nutmeg swirled with
Ginger scents fill our noses
Every holiday
Recalling grandma’s shortbread
Because
Remembering,
Eating treats
And laughing fill our hearts with
Delight.

Reindeer

Romping, rambling caribou,
Eager to fly through
Icy air.
No weather, too fierce.
Determined,
Earnest companions to
Elves, who pack a magical sleigh.
Ready, steady, soar!
