Turtle Paradise ... a poem by Jacob

The COP 26 meetings in Glasgow (United Nations Climate Change Conference 2021) are coming to an end with people rightly worried about environmental issues. These last few years have seen an impressive increase in the awareness and effort of younger people with respect to our impact on this planet. Here at the Dirigible Balloon we have been sent a wonderful acrostic poem by a young poet who dreams of swimming in a coral rich ocean with lovely sea turtles.

We hope Jacob achieves his dream someday …

Turtle Paradise

Swimming with turtles is my dream.
Exciting and scary
Adventures under the sea.
Turquoise ocean shimmering in the sun.
Under the surface I will dive
Right down to the orange and purple coral.
Turtles are gliding and swaying gently
Looking pretty with their tie-dyed shells.
Every day I worry about sea turtles in danger.
Save them so my dreams can come true!
