To a Pineapple
Bizarre, foreign, sultry beauty,
Splendid, unique, prickly cutie,
Golden, zingy, yummy, fruity
Source of health.
Aloof, haughty, you seem snooty,
Icon of wealth.
Fragrant favourite of the elite
Rich and titled raced to compete
Growing objects who love the heat
Packed with enzymes
Tasty, juicy, luscious and sweet
Showpiece mealtimes.
Sticky desserts we love to bake
Glacé cherried upside-down cake
With tinned rings, chunks or crushed, we make
Tempting teasers
Topping burgers, kebabs, gammon steaks
But ne’er pizza!
Splendid, unique, prickly cutie,
Golden, zingy, yummy, fruity
Source of health.
Aloof, haughty, you seem snooty,
Icon of wealth.
Fragrant favourite of the elite
Rich and titled raced to compete
Growing objects who love the heat
Packed with enzymes
Tasty, juicy, luscious and sweet
Showpiece mealtimes.
Sticky desserts we love to bake
Glacé cherried upside-down cake
With tinned rings, chunks or crushed, we make
Tempting teasers
Topping burgers, kebabs, gammon steaks
But ne’er pizza!
