There She Was Again
This morning
ready for school
I opened the front door
and there she was again
one of my oldest friends
waiting on the doorstep
My go-to chauffeur
wearing her yellow bow tie
opening the garden gate wide
in her loud sunshine suit
and lavender boots
beckoning me
to take another ride
in her four month long
pristine limousine
repainted and reupholstered
in gold and green
It was Summer
ready for school
I opened the front door
and there she was again
one of my oldest friends
waiting on the doorstep
My go-to chauffeur
wearing her yellow bow tie
opening the garden gate wide
in her loud sunshine suit
and lavender boots
beckoning me
to take another ride
in her four month long
pristine limousine
repainted and reupholstered
in gold and green
It was Summer
