The Dirigible Balloon
Poetry for Children

The shark who didn’t get the memo worries about the mobile dentist

(A shark continually sheds and replaces its teeth and may have tens of thousands in its lifetime!)

Listen to Rob read his poem ...
Oh no! They’re coming to get me!
They’re coming to steal my teeth.
But I need them to eat my gumbo
With the bell peppers underneath.

They’re coming to take my fangs away!
It’s my one and only fear.
Down here you probably won’t notice
But I’ve just shed a tear.

I’ll do anything they want, you know.
Is it too much to ask?
Just leave me with my choppers
and I’ll grin and swish and bask.
