The Sweetest Sound
The lark ascending in the air,
A nightingale in Berkeley Square,
The blackbird in the dead of night —
All of these songs bring much delight.
But most mellifluous of all
In summer is the distant call
Which echoes through the atmosphere
Till more distinctly we can hear
The sweetest sound that’s known to man —
The tinkle of an ice cream van.
A nightingale in Berkeley Square,
The blackbird in the dead of night —
All of these songs bring much delight.
But most mellifluous of all
In summer is the distant call
Which echoes through the atmosphere
Till more distinctly we can hear
The sweetest sound that’s known to man —
The tinkle of an ice cream van.
