The Rose-Coloured Glasses
My mum has a pair of rose-coloured specs
She wears them all the time
They can make anything look superb
Even when it’s really not fine
One day when I was miserable,
My mum lent her glasses to me
She said, ‘You seem to need these today,’
So I put them on tentatively
I looked through them with surprise
And the sun instantly came out
The exam didn’t look so tricky
My mind wasn’t full of doubt
I really do wish that everyone
Could have glasses just like these
Then the world would be a better place
And life would be a breeze.
She wears them all the time
They can make anything look superb
Even when it’s really not fine
One day when I was miserable,
My mum lent her glasses to me
She said, ‘You seem to need these today,’
So I put them on tentatively
I looked through them with surprise
And the sun instantly came out
The exam didn’t look so tricky
My mind wasn’t full of doubt
I really do wish that everyone
Could have glasses just like these
Then the world would be a better place
And life would be a breeze.
