The Pig Who Thought He Might Fly
I wandered lonely as a pig
that floats on high with home-made wings
when all at once I saw a crowd,
and did the most outrageous things
a pig can do when soaring high
and swooping low to say hello
to those who see a brave fellow
fall to earth, back to his sty
where he awakes from flying dreams
and all his other silly schemes.
Beside the pond, beneath the fleas
stay there, pig, and rest at ease.
that floats on high with home-made wings
when all at once I saw a crowd,
and did the most outrageous things
a pig can do when soaring high
and swooping low to say hello
to those who see a brave fellow
fall to earth, back to his sty
where he awakes from flying dreams
and all his other silly schemes.
Beside the pond, beneath the fleas
stay there, pig, and rest at ease.
