The Mouse House
I met a merry mouse
And named him Mister Rouse.
He lived inside my house
With Rhoda Dent, his spouse.
At first, our fun was great,
But soon they'd start to mate
And keep a steady rate
Of making sets of eight.
Their numbers grew and grew
To form a massive crew.
What started off as two
Became a mousy zoo.
I’m drowning in my debts
To trainers and to vets,
So come and see my pets
And take a couple sets.
And named him Mister Rouse.
He lived inside my house
With Rhoda Dent, his spouse.
At first, our fun was great,
But soon they'd start to mate
And keep a steady rate
Of making sets of eight.
Their numbers grew and grew
To form a massive crew.
What started off as two
Became a mousy zoo.
I’m drowning in my debts
To trainers and to vets,
So come and see my pets
And take a couple sets.
*Mice can have litters of up to 8 pups. Did you know that baby mice were called “pups”?
