The Magnificent Pencil
I am the most brilliant invention.
Filled with purpose and power,
I’m absolute perfection!
An extraordinary thing,
majestically dressed in yellow,
with an eraser for a top hat,
I’m a sophisticated fellow.
I’m a transmitter of thoughts,
of intentions, inventions.
A transcriber of words,
of artistic creations.
I jot and I plot
countless poems and stories…
I bring history to life,
our trials and glories.
And when this talented fellow
is no longer tall,
when I’ve been worked, whittled down
and have become quite small...
Let us always be reminded,
from my beautiful creations,
Of how I, the pencil,
am the MOST MAGNIFICENT invention.
