The Grumbler

And now I know my stomach’s got
a creature living there.
It’s found a home, secured a spot,
I'm hungry, so beware!
It leaps about and somersaults,
and makes a racket, too.
I skipped my breakfast, all my fault,
it grumbles through, and through.
I should attempt to calm it down,
I’ll eat a snack, I think.
That hasn’t worked, it makes me frown,
it wants its favourite drink.
I pat my belly, call its name,
it roars and jumps about.
It’s rare to see it calm, and tame,
it loves to bang and shout.
But not all food I distribute
stays put, he’ll cause a scene.
It comes back up the northern route,
and makes my face go green.
So, if you want to be its friend,
be careful of your diet.
Remember what you chew, then send,
to gain some peace and quiet!
