The Baobab Tree
Whilst in Kenya
wild and free
I came across
a Baobab tree,
wide and stout
engulfing me
made me small
that Baobab tree,
the scars upon
its trunk the key
to see the age
of this Baobab tree,
for a thousand years
stood there free
for thousands more
this Baobab tree.
wild and free
I came across
a Baobab tree,
wide and stout
engulfing me
made me small
that Baobab tree,
the scars upon
its trunk the key
to see the age
of this Baobab tree,
for a thousand years
stood there free
for thousands more
this Baobab tree.
