Summer Fairies
Summer Fairies arrive to shoo away the spring,
riding warm wings of the melting winds they bring.
Appearing every year with June’s first molten breeze,
Flanked by their entourage of buzzing honeybees.
Sprinkling field and forest with confetti butterflies.
Baking creampuff clouds in sizzling sapphire skies.
Summer Fairies coax the flowers to their fullest bloom.
Spill buckets of sunbeams, in each and every room.
When all the bursting berries have hit their sweetest mark,
days start growing shorter, light gives away to dark,
Fairies pack up summer all the sunshine and its play
making time for Autumn before Winters on her way.
riding warm wings of the melting winds they bring.
