Statue of Blue

It looks like a blue statue,
standing still, calm, and tall,
but now a summer breeze
is blowing across the pond,
and something is slowly shifting
on the top of its slim head,
lifting up,
falling down,
swaying side to side,
and suddenly,
I see
they are long, slender feathers
just as the statue
springs to life
and spears the water
with his pointy bill,
like a blue lightning bolt.
