Spring Time Re-leaf

Pack away your woolly jumpers
Put away your flannel sheets
Hang up your thick grey overcoat
Unscrew your football cleats

Winter’s finally leaving town
The days are growing longer
The sky is getting bluer
And the sun is getting stronger

Dainty jonquils, happy daffodils
And delicate bluebells too
Push their heads up through the soil
To welcome spring anew

Chilly winds become warm breezes
Which tempt the petals free
Welcome to the season of sneezes
And of butterfly and bee

So reorganise your wardrobe
Unpack t-shirts, blouses, shorts
Take out swimming caps and golf clubs
Sunhats, slides and tennis skorts

Bring back all your colour
Hues of aqua, pink, light blue
Yellows: butter, lemon, sunshine
Sherbet, coral and tangerine too.
