The Dirigible Balloon
Poetry for Children

Snow Time

When I open the curtains,
The landscape snow globe ready,
I rush for my sledge to be
Part of the picture.

Like the child stood alone
By an old oak tree –
Will you come and play with me?

We can shout at the wind,
As snow spins and falls,
Sliding and skating through.

Back warm inside,
Coats and shoes in a pile,
Loud happy sighs, with a hot chocolate smile.

The snow globe is quiet now,
air settled and soft.
Until next time you come and play.
