Sisterhood

Stop chasing me!
I ran with her favorite pair of shoes!
Originally white,
But now a dark brown,
Brown, like my skin,
And my mom’s large eyes,
I tripped in the mud.
My little legs pull me up,
Long strides catch me.

Tag your it!
Catching me,
Silhouette give me a clue,
She won again!

Our bond,
Growing,
To more possibilities,
Hiding in trees,
Dancing next to you,
Catching grasshoppers our hands can’t hold,
Small hands,
Grew into large.
Butterflies bringing,
New…news,
Old …. News,
To retell again.

Tag you’re it!
My legs push through for another mile,
Moments that would continue,
to take my breath away!
