The Dirigible Balloon
Poetry for Children

Sequoia

You’re so tall, young sapling, I’ll wager
that you’re going to be massive one day!
Swings will hang from all of your branches,
there’ll be hundreds of bird’s nests I’d say.
It will take days to walk right around you,
and a week to climb up to the top -
lucky gravity won’t be affected,
we’ll come down in a one-minute drop.
