Sapphire Amongst The Stars

Listen to Jacoby ...
Stars shine brightly, this we know,
They shimmer an opal silvery glow,
Sparkling radiantly as freshly fallen snow,
But not all stars put on the same show.
Some stars are different, they stand out from the crowd,
Their colours are vibrant and blazingly loud,
Individuals standing strong, fierce and proud,
Holding on to the wishes in which they have vowed.
Some people love them, but not all do,
Some find them a threat and their existence they rue,
They're considered worthless, an abnormal taboo,
But these opinions are simply not true.
These stars are special, they illumine the night,
Bringing joy and hope whilst twinkling bright,
Their mission is for love, never to fight,
And ease all of your burdens, setting wrong things right.
So don't underestimate these blessings of ours,
They'll cherish every wish, kept safe in mason jars,
They love you for you, all of your flaws and your scars,
They're a diamond in the rough, a sapphire amongst the stars.

About the Writer

Jacoby Crane

Jacoby is an eccentric artist living in Derbyshire. They spend their time baking, making peculiar things, doodling doodles and writing oddities, currently they're focusing on poetry and working on a children's fantasy novel called Lumi. Jacoby's inspiration mostly comes from their unusual dreams and the weirdly wonderful things their kids quote, but their muse comes in the forms of Neil Gaiman and Chris Riddell.
