Red Admiral – Traces of You
I thought
the beauty of summer
had sadly gone,
but there you are
in a different form
with dazzling colours
of autumn.
Your velvet wings
open and close
in an elegant pose,
as you perch on
a buddleia.
Its lilac petals
begin to fade
but fragrant notes
of sweet honey
still linger.
the beauty of summer
had sadly gone,
but there you are
in a different form
with dazzling colours
of autumn.
Your velvet wings
open and close
in an elegant pose,
as you perch on
a buddleia.
Its lilac petals
begin to fade
but fragrant notes
of sweet honey
still linger.
