Pass the Pasta!

I like cheese, I like peas
I’d like a little more chocolate please
But I like more than all of these
PASTA!

I like pasta with pesto
Tagliatelle with sauce
Rigatoni with chicken
Spaghetti Bolognese of course
Tortellini with spinach
Ravioli with veg
Tonight? Please say yes, mum?
C’mon! you’re a ledge!

Though I like egg and chips, beans on toast is OKAY
And I quite like a burger, I just have to say
I’m not bothered by pizza, you can keep KFC
’Coz the best of all options is:
Pasta for tea!

About the Writer

Lesley James

Lesley writes for young people and less young people. Many of her stories and poems for children are set in Lesley’s Garden, where a cast of birds, beasts and minibeasts live. She loves playing with words - rhythms, rhymes, tongue-twisters - and telling real tales. Nothing is more funny, thrilling or entertaining than the real life you can see from your own window.
