Painting Like Picasso
I wish I could paint like Picasso
but my drawings aren’t very good.
Mum said Picasso just went with the flow
but I wasn’t sure that I should.
When I tried drawing lines like Mondrian
my ruler kept slipping off,
I sat and sketched some sunflowers
but mine didn’t look like Van Gogh’s.
I studied Turner’s landscapes
admired his use of light
but mine were full of splodges
I couldn’t get it right.
Then I discovered Yayoi Kusama
who makes her sculptures spotty
my room is now a work of Art
and everything is dotty!
but my drawings aren’t very good.
Mum said Picasso just went with the flow
but I wasn’t sure that I should.
When I tried drawing lines like Mondrian
my ruler kept slipping off,
I sat and sketched some sunflowers
but mine didn’t look like Van Gogh’s.
I studied Turner’s landscapes
admired his use of light
but mine were full of splodges
I couldn’t get it right.
Then I discovered Yayoi Kusama
who makes her sculptures spotty
my room is now a work of Art
and everything is dotty!
