Oh Nuggets!

Jim adored nuggets.
He’d eat nothing more.
“Pancakes?” asked Mom.
“JUST NUGGETS!” he’d roar.

“Maybe a sandwich?”
“JUST NUGGETS!” yelled Jim.
No pizza or pasta
would satisfy him.

“You know,” explained Mom,
“you are what you eat.”
“Whatever,” Jim mumbled,
devouring his meat.

“You’d better be careful,”
she warned, “‘cuz it’s true.
If you were a nugget,
I might well eat you.

Jim snorted, “yeah, right,”
then returned to his plate.

He ate

and he ate

and he ate

and he ate.

The very next morning,
Mom looked for the lad.
In his bed, lay a nugget.

She ate it.

“Not bad.”
