Nice Weather for Ducks
I don’t like the weather today
I wish this rain would go away
If I tell mum, then she’ll just say,
“It’s nice weather for ducks.”
“Excuse me, can you see a beak?
Do I quack instead of speak?
Waterproof feathers and feet?” I shriek,
“Really, nice weather for ducks?”
Mum says, “You’re not made of sugar, you know.”
It’s time for school so I have to go.
I protest again, but mum says “No.
It’s nice weather for ducks.”
I don’t think I could be more wet.
My clothes are drenched and I’m quite upset.
I fell in a puddle, got soaked, and yet
“It’s nice weather for ducks!”
I think all the ducks are laughing at me,
As I try to shelter under a tree.
I hope tomorrow’s forecast won’t be
“Nice weather for ducks”.
