My Weasel's got Measles

My weasel's got measles, he's covered in spots,
I can't say how many but I know he's got lots
The vet sat us down and she said with a frown
"This weasel's got measles, a bug's going round"

My measly weasel is quite ill at ease,
he's really displeased by his measly disease
His temperature's up to a hundred degrees,
one seldom see's weasels with measles like these

My weasel's got measles, it's caused a commotion,
can somebody fetch us some calamine lotion!?
His fever is climbing, he's down in the dumps,
it's just like that time when my meerkat had mumps

He's covered in speckles, it's really outrageous,
he's also got freckles (but they're not contagious)
He's trying to rest as he needs to recoup,
I've not been this stressed since my polecat got croup

He's taking his vit's and he's wearing a matching
pair of those mittens that stop him from scratching
His coats become taut, he's very distraught,
I've not been this fraught since my stoat got strep throat

I've kept him off school and I've left him in bed
with a flannel that's cool on top of his head
My measly weasel's a sick little fella,
and part of me thinks that my mink's got rubella

My weasel had measles but now he's immune,
his spots have all gone, not a minute too soon
His measles have eased and they won't reappear,
I've not been this pleased since my beaver's all clear

His fever is lower, his temperature's dropped,
his rash is no more and his itching has stopped
My pet's getting better but lo and behold,
the vet sent a letter ... My vole's got a cold
