Mud Kitchen
Sandpit kingdom,
woodlouse king,
What’s for dinner?
Anything
sculpted in the grainy wet,
hold the teacup, let
her pour,
more milk in this one,
sugar stir,
rake it ready -
I prefer my tea without
the wriggling,
but here’s the kettle,
hear it sing!
Castles lumped in
messy rows,
slugs in corners -
watch your toes!
Rows of mallow, Rosa fast,
biking down the garden path.
woodlouse king,
What’s for dinner?
Anything
sculpted in the grainy wet,
hold the teacup, let
her pour,
more milk in this one,
sugar stir,
rake it ready -
I prefer my tea without
the wriggling,
but here’s the kettle,
hear it sing!
Castles lumped in
messy rows,
slugs in corners -
watch your toes!
Rows of mallow, Rosa fast,
biking down the garden path.
