The Dirigible Balloon
Poetry for Children

Mizzerable

Was about to head out when I felt some
MIZZLE
Rain coming down, just a very light
DRIZZLE
Is it wet? Too wet? Should I go? What a
QUIZZLE
Was gonna ride my bike at speed with a
WHIZZLE
Fly straight down the slope of the nearest
HIZZLE
But the drizzle (at speed) isn’t good for the
VIZZLE
And I need sharp wits – gimme hammer and
CHISEL
So I sit inside, and I start to
GRIZZLE
Temper! Temper! Starts to
SIZZLE
As my plan to go out goes out with a
FIZZLE
