Misplaced Anger
I placed my anger on the desk
Right here, beside my wallet
And now it’s gone, nowhere in sight
Without a way to call it
I guess I can’t have tantrums,
Throw hissy fits, lash out,
Fly off the handle, hit the roof,
Or scream and yell and shout
I can’t go nuts or flip my lid,
Boil over, come unglued,
Act spiteful, show my ugly side,
Or be obscenely rude
I’ll always feel relaxed and calm
My attitude will soften
I’ll cherish little things in life
And laugh a lot more often
I’ll be at peace, sleep well at night,
Let petty grudges end,
Forgive, forget, let go of hate,
and be a better friend
I’ll be a thoughtful, confident,
Fun-loving, happy kid
Perhaps, I don’t need anger
The way I thought I did
Right here, beside my wallet
And now it’s gone, nowhere in sight
Without a way to call it
I guess I can’t have tantrums,
Throw hissy fits, lash out,
Fly off the handle, hit the roof,
Or scream and yell and shout
I can’t go nuts or flip my lid,
Boil over, come unglued,
Act spiteful, show my ugly side,
Or be obscenely rude
I’ll always feel relaxed and calm
My attitude will soften
I’ll cherish little things in life
And laugh a lot more often
I’ll be at peace, sleep well at night,
Let petty grudges end,
Forgive, forget, let go of hate,
and be a better friend
I’ll be a thoughtful, confident,
Fun-loving, happy kid
Perhaps, I don’t need anger
The way I thought I did
