Lost in Space

When Apollo 11 landed on the Moon—that’s
a famous day—did you know there was one
small
thing no one heard after Neil Armstrong took his step
on the Moon? For
real, he said, “a”
before “man,”
but no one
heard it! A tiny word lost immediately in the giant
space of space. It made its little letter leap,
a satellite of sound, that for
a moment, began, but never finished, its orbit of mankind.
