Little Deer in Winter
I hardly see you, Little Deer —
you match the trees and ground.
My camera brings me oh, so near
but I won’t make a sound.
You stare at me, your brown eyes wide
Oh, please don’t move, don’t scare.
I know you’re trying hard to hide,
and want to know I care.
Please let me “click”! That’s all I need
to carry home with me
and then I’ll leave you while you feed
on leaves from Little Tree.
you match the trees and ground.
My camera brings me oh, so near
but I won’t make a sound.
You stare at me, your brown eyes wide
Oh, please don’t move, don’t scare.
I know you’re trying hard to hide,
and want to know I care.
Please let me “click”! That’s all I need
to carry home with me
and then I’ll leave you while you feed
on leaves from Little Tree.
