Lily Dancing
You sway underwater
rooted somewhere deep below
stretching, reaching up then out
swirling ‘round like a dancer entranced
your outer petals a flowing skirt
settling now softly on the surface,
living at least for today
as an ancient soloist
in the still pond.
rooted somewhere deep below
stretching, reaching up then out
swirling ‘round like a dancer entranced
your outer petals a flowing skirt
settling now softly on the surface,
living at least for today
as an ancient soloist
in the still pond.
