Knotted
There are lots and lots
and lots of knots,
some are simple,
most are not.
But each one has a special use
to make sure ropes are never loose.
Hitch and splice
Turn and twist
Sling and whip
Let nothing slip
Braid and bend
Bow and bight
Loop and lash
Keep things tight
But the best knot for any job
is the best knot of the lot.
That knot is the right knot,
not the knot that’s not.
and lots of knots,
some are simple,
most are not.
But each one has a special use
to make sure ropes are never loose.
Hitch and splice
Turn and twist
Sling and whip
Let nothing slip
Braid and bend
Bow and bight
Loop and lash
Keep things tight
But the best knot for any job
is the best knot of the lot.
That knot is the right knot,
not the knot that’s not.
