Fantastic Friedrich Fröbel,
he had a German name.
He understood the life of kids
was quite a funny game.
He grew some in a garden,
grew children just like plants.
He let them play the whole long day
among the birds and ants.
In German Kinder just means kids
and Garten just means garden.
You see what Freddie Fröbel did?
Of course, I beg your pardon.
So have a happy day at school:
it’s quite okay, in fact it’s cool
to play and skip and count and rhyme.
Just watch out when it’s watering time!
