Jack in a Box
I hate being stuck in here, waiting for some grotty kid to lift the lid
and then scream when I jump out. I hate being cramped with my
neck forced to bend and my head between my knees. Please! Let me
out! Not just to scare some poor little boy or girl but really out for
good I would LOVE that. I could be a doll or maybe a puppet not
just a trick on a spring to boing out squealing sending the birthday
girl running from the room like I was spider on the ceiling. Just how
would you like it here in the dark all curled up with terrible cramp in
a box that’s damp and no company but a dead fly or two like some
creature in a zoo they come to gawp at and run the minute they do
what creatures do? Or a sad faced clown the children point at and
laugh, a clown that’s not laughing behind his mask of paint. I’m no
painted devil, I’m not a saint either but I stopped getting a kick out
of terrifying every sticky kid when they flick open my LID!
and then scream when I jump out.
Just how
