In the Near Future

In the near future
no longer will there be boredom
loneliness or barriers.
Everything will be Free!
Futuristic! Flawless!
We will wake up to Good Morning Matrix!
refreshed from charging our brains;
plug in the eye sockets, turn on the screens,
warm up our gears for the new day’s battleground
as the whirring machines around us resound.

We’ll link up to the Cloud
a Heavenly Satellite Connection
and after sustenance, bean juice,
we’ll step onto the Pipeline
a conveyer belt to The Daily Grind.
En route you’ll check if anyone has graffiti-ed
your metaphorical wall
and socialize from your digital window:
palm-piloting your life,
touch and go.

I’ll observe as earplugs plug into
the Auditory Dimension
when VR means Verified Reality
and Sci-Fi will soon be non-fiction
its predictions and prophecies fulfilled.
Your world revolves around You!
Your destiny in Your palm
drawn with a finger’s gesture;
while star-led horoscopes lose their sixth sense
and the sun and the moon surrender significance.

The Divinity App! Omnipresent, Omniscient,
WikiLord worshipped at a tap.
The All-Mighty prayer-collecting,
info-gathering, character-profiling,
man-made ruler of Democratic Society.
He knows if you are sleeping
He knows where you have been
His god-eye through the cameras
will record all History.
The Time Machine becomes a reality.

In the Near Future
no longer will there be pressure
responsibility or anxiety.
Everything will be Inconsequential!
Immaterial! Insignificant!
We will go to bed with our pocket gods
ready to face another day, another dollar.
Cool down the battery with yet another
viral video, cute cat pic, and procrastinating share.
In the Near Future, private thought will be rare.
