I'm Sheltered, Let it Rain
A drip, a drop, a drizzle,
Wet against the skin,
Still walking, pushing up the brolly,
Thankful showery conditions won`t win.
Even in grabbing winds
Pulling at my grip,
Caught inside-out and outside-in,
Under the force does not rip.
Protected me from the elements.
Fulfilling its purpose without doubt,
Never asking questions, just listening,
Not poking about.
Heavy drops splashing
With hard thuds echoing more and more,
With an accompaniment of laughter, an instrument of weather,
Creates beats of rhythm in two-four.
A clear puddle mirrors
Grey shadows, an overcast sky,
But a flare of vivid tones brightens it,
Raising spirits, helping them fly.
Sunbeams shine through
The fabric of waterproof sheet,
Casting colourful light on me,
Emerging, with a smile the sun I greet.
Wet against the skin,
Still walking, pushing up the brolly,
Thankful showery conditions won`t win.
Even in grabbing winds
Pulling at my grip,
Caught inside-out and outside-in,
Under the force does not rip.
Protected me from the elements.
Fulfilling its purpose without doubt,
Never asking questions, just listening,
Not poking about.
Heavy drops splashing
With hard thuds echoing more and more,
With an accompaniment of laughter, an instrument of weather,
Creates beats of rhythm in two-four.
A clear puddle mirrors
Grey shadows, an overcast sky,
But a flare of vivid tones brightens it,
Raising spirits, helping them fly.
Sunbeams shine through
The fabric of waterproof sheet,
Casting colourful light on me,
Emerging, with a smile the sun I greet.
