If I Were a Bird
Birds don’t have teeth in their beak
They don’t need to brush them all week
They take long trips in the sky
They don’t need an airplane to fly
They don’t need a coat in a storm
Their feathers are soft and so warm
They don’t have to wear any clothes
or shoes on their pretzely toes
They don’t have to follow the rules
or spend all year going to school
They don’t need to make up their bed--
They sleep in a tree instead
If I were a bird so free
I’d be happy and thrilled to be me!
They don’t need to brush them all week
They take long trips in the sky
They don’t need an airplane to fly
They don’t need a coat in a storm
Their feathers are soft and so warm
They don’t have to wear any clothes
or shoes on their pretzely toes
They don’t have to follow the rules
or spend all year going to school
They don’t need to make up their bed--
They sleep in a tree instead
If I were a bird so free
I’d be happy and thrilled to be me!
