I Wish it Would Snow

I wish it would snow,
I wish it would snow,
All over the trees and the bushes that grow,
All over the paths and gardens I know.
A soft sheet of holiness, sparkling white,
The shimmer of angels, this cold winter’s night.

I wish it would snow,
I wish it would snow,
A shower of snowflakes that dance to and fro,
And paint all the rooftops wherever they go.
‘Til all ugly things are a beautiful sight,
‘Til Earth looks like Heaven, this cold winter’s night.
