Hide-and Seek, Wild Child
Mom counts. “1…2…3…”
A shoe-laced child crouches behind a stump, listening.
Whoooooo sings Wind.
Plip-plop trickles Brook.
Fwhoop flutters Bird.
Swish sways Grass.
Chitter-chatter squeaks Squirrel.
The child kicks off her shoes,
Plucks a flower,
And spins,
whirls,
twirls…
Crunch! Snap! Twigs warn.
“Found ya! ”
Mom hugs her wild child.
A shoe-laced child crouches behind a stump, listening.
Whoooooo sings Wind.
Plip-plop trickles Brook.
Fwhoop flutters Bird.
Swish sways Grass.
Chitter-chatter squeaks Squirrel.
The child kicks off her shoes,
Plucks a flower,
And spins,
whirls,
twirls…
Crunch! Snap! Twigs warn.
“Found ya! ”
Mom hugs her wild child.
