Hanging Out with Animals
I spent today with animals.
I wasn’t at the zoo,
They followed me throughout my day,
Perhaps you see them too?
I sifted through the clotheshorse,
For my turtleneck and slacks,
I tied my hair in pigtails,
Made a doggy bag of snacks,
I strode the zebra crossing,
Met up with my friend, Cat,
We hung out on the monkey bars,
Played with a ball and bat.
We gave each other piggybacks,
We foxtrotted through flowers,
We leap frogged over tree stumps,
Two bookworms, out for hours.
At home I tried to catnap,
Then Dad began to crow,
My brother’s in the doghouse:
'Cause the wireless mouse won’t go!
Yes, I spent today with animals.
I wasn’t at the zoo,
They followed me throughout my day,
Perhaps you saw them too?
I wasn’t at the zoo,
They followed me throughout my day,
Perhaps you see them too?
I sifted through the clotheshorse,
For my turtleneck and slacks,
I tied my hair in pigtails,
Made a doggy bag of snacks,
I strode the zebra crossing,
Met up with my friend, Cat,
We hung out on the monkey bars,
Played with a ball and bat.
We gave each other piggybacks,
We foxtrotted through flowers,
We leap frogged over tree stumps,
Two bookworms, out for hours.
At home I tried to catnap,
Then Dad began to crow,
My brother’s in the doghouse:
'Cause the wireless mouse won’t go!
Yes, I spent today with animals.
I wasn’t at the zoo,
They followed me throughout my day,
Perhaps you saw them too?
