Gossiping Library Books
Library books sit on shelves,
waiting for all lights out.
In the dark, they share hushed confessions—
Whoa, she dog-eared my pages.
I felt tears land on THE END.
I feel forgotten, never checked out.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory wasn’t returned.
I saw a child tuck the book,
under their tattered coat.
A blue moon gleams through the window.
Library books, gossiping
whispering words without sleep.
waiting for all lights out.
In the dark, they share hushed confessions—
Whoa, she dog-eared my pages.
I felt tears land on THE END.
I feel forgotten, never checked out.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory wasn’t returned.
I saw a child tuck the book,
under their tattered coat.
A blue moon gleams through the window.
Library books, gossiping
whispering words without sleep.
