Good News
Good news waits
like a freshly planted sunflower seed,
a full moon during the day,
friends at a birthday party
ready to yell SURPRISE.
Good news arrives
like a milkman before breakfast,
snow on Christmas morning,
fresh bread in a toaster.
Good news hits
like strawberry ice cream
on a warm tongue,
a firework on a black sky,
a cat leaping on to a lap.
like a freshly planted sunflower seed,
a full moon during the day,
friends at a birthday party
ready to yell SURPRISE.
Good news arrives
like a milkman before breakfast,
snow on Christmas morning,
fresh bread in a toaster.
Good news hits
like strawberry ice cream
on a warm tongue,
a firework on a black sky,
a cat leaping on to a lap.
