Gee Golly Boat
Gee, golly, gee—
Look at the sea!
It’s bigger than big
And it’s wigglier than me.
Gee, golly, whoa—
The fog rolls low,
The waves stack tall,
And the wind won’t slow.
But I hold onto you,
And you hold your float:
You sway and you stay,
My gee golly boat.
When the ferries rush by
And their wakes make us rock,
You bob like a cork
Till we bump into the dock.
I don’t need to be free.
I don’t need to fly.
I’ve got the whole sea
And the whole wiggly sky,
Because you are my giant,
My steady, my own—
My gee golly boat
That carries me home.
Look at the sea!
It’s bigger than big
And it’s wigglier than me.
Gee, golly, whoa—
The fog rolls low,
The waves stack tall,
And the wind won’t slow.
But I hold onto you,
And you hold your float:
You sway and you stay,
My gee golly boat.
When the ferries rush by
And their wakes make us rock,
You bob like a cork
Till we bump into the dock.
I don’t need to be free.
I don’t need to fly.
I’ve got the whole sea
And the whole wiggly sky,
Because you are my giant,
My steady, my own—
My gee golly boat
That carries me home.
