The Dirigible Balloon
Poetry for Children

Frosty

It started with a pinecone
laying in the snow
I gave a kick, the pinecone rolled,
little did I know . . .

Snow caked the cone like Velcro,
coated it in fluff.
I pushed again, the snow coat clung.
Ten pushes were enough.

I loved that big ole’ snow ball,
and making it was grand, so . . .
I rolled and rolled and pushed and stacked
and made a huge snowman.
