Friendship Troupe
Some have high pitched voices that either sing like sugary birdsong,
Or pierce like eerie screams,
Though they sometimes get on your nerves,
They tell the most exciting stories.
A cluster of them are as beautiful as peach seashells,
Blowing sublimity into the threadbare air,
Graceful, shy and mysterious-
I could listen to them whistle their truths for hours…
There are a band of them who swing to the side,
Golden, sizzling and heroic,
Their vibrating honesty,
Shines as brightly as a troupe of metallic dancing suns.
The ones hidden from view, are like mellow heartbeats,
Remote and steady, they boom, crash and shimmer,
I don't always get to see them,
But I know they are there, in the background,
Reassuring, earthy, comedians, they always leave me grinning!
I appreciate my ensemble of friends,
How they synchronize with my emotions and moods,
They are the heart-space of my mind,
Giving me a sense of belonging, anchoring,
Connection.
My North star.
My town’s community orchestra!
Or pierce like eerie screams,
Though they sometimes get on your nerves,
They tell the most exciting stories.
A cluster of them are as beautiful as peach seashells,
Blowing sublimity into the threadbare air,
Graceful, shy and mysterious-
I could listen to them whistle their truths for hours…
There are a band of them who swing to the side,
Golden, sizzling and heroic,
Their vibrating honesty,
Shines as brightly as a troupe of metallic dancing suns.
The ones hidden from view, are like mellow heartbeats,
Remote and steady, they boom, crash and shimmer,
I don't always get to see them,
But I know they are there, in the background,
Reassuring, earthy, comedians, they always leave me grinning!
I appreciate my ensemble of friends,
How they synchronize with my emotions and moods,
They are the heart-space of my mind,
Giving me a sense of belonging, anchoring,
Connection.
My North star.
My town’s community orchestra!
