Flying Kites
It flies so high above my head
swirling yellow, green and red
twirling acrobatic in the breeze
high above in clouds and trees.
It seems so tiny in the sky,
flapping, dancing, floating by,
it hardly seems that I control
these strings that make it sway and roll.
A somersaulting high performer
my kite can rise and dive and corner
scaring birds in summer skies
O how I wish that I could fly!
swirling yellow, green and red
twirling acrobatic in the breeze
high above in clouds and trees.
It seems so tiny in the sky,
flapping, dancing, floating by,
it hardly seems that I control
these strings that make it sway and roll.
A somersaulting high performer
my kite can rise and dive and corner
scaring birds in summer skies
O how I wish that I could fly!
